Diablo 4 Season 8: Prepare for the Transition!
Diablo 4 Season 7 is winding down, and the excitement for Season 8 is building! But before you dive headfirst into the new content, it's crucial to understand what progress you'll be keeping and what's getting left behind.
What Definitely Carries Over:
Eternal Realm Progress: The most important thing to remember is that everything your Seasonal character achieves will eventually transfer to the Eternal Realm. Once Season 7 ends, your Seasonal character will be moved to the Eternal Realm.
Character Level and Experience: Your character's level and all the experience they've gained will be preserved when they transition to the Eternal Realm.
Skills and Paragon Points: All the skills you've unlocked and Paragon points you've spent will remain intact. You can continue refining your build in the Eternal Realm.
Diablo 4 Items: This is the big one! All the Diablo 4 Items you've collected – your armor, weapons, jewelry, and unique finds – will carry over to the Eternal Realm. This includes items in your inventory, stash, and equipped on your character. Time to check your stash to see if you will be needing them in season 8 or not!
Diablo 4 Gold and Resources: Hoarders rejoice! All the Diablo 4 gold you've accumulated, along with crafting materials and other resources, will be transferred with your character. This gives you a nice financial and material head start on the Eternal Realm.
Cosmetics and Titles: Any cosmetic items, titles, and achievements you've earned during Season 7 will be permanently unlocked and available to use on all your characters (both Seasonal and Eternal).
Renown Progress: This is partially carried over. Any Renown you've earned that unlocks account-wide bonuses (like skill points, Paragon points, potion capacity) will be retained. However, the specific progress within each region will reset for Season 8.
What Doesn't Carry Over (and Why):
Seasonal Character: Your Seasonal character becomes an Eternal Realm character. You won't be able to play them in Season 8. This is the core concept of Seasons – a fresh start!
Seasonal Features: Season-specific mechanics, quests, and powers introduced in Season 7 will disappear when the season ends. This allows for new and exciting content in Season 8.
Altar of Lilith Progress (Mostly): The Altars of Lilith themselves remain unlocked account-wide, but the Renown you gained from them within each region will reset for the season.
Preparing for Season 8:
Eternal Realm Goals: Consider what you’d like to achieve with your transferred character, whether it’s experimenting with builds or tackling challenging content.
Salvage Strategically: Evaluate your items and salvage anything unnecessary to free up stash space.
Spend Your Gold Wisely: Use excess gold to upgrade gear or purchase materials before the season ends, ensuring you're well-equipped for Season 8.
Plan Your Season 8 Character: Decide on your desired class and build for Season 8 and familiarize yourself with any new mechanics to enhance your gameplay experience.
By understanding these transitions, you'll be better equipped to enjoy what Season 8 has to offer while making the most of your hard-earned progress in Diablo 4.
